One of the important steps to get data insights is to get access to the data. In this blog I will focus on the data in Oracle Cloud. If you are using Oracle ERP, Oracle HCM, Oracle SCM and/or Oracle CX, you have few options.
One of the solution would be to use a vendor provided tool to get the data. This helps to show case the data to business within few weeks rather than starting from scratch. If you are using or planning to use any of the above Oracle Applications (ERP, HCM, SCM, CX), you will need to understand all the data elements and map them to your data insights needs. And then design a mechanism to get the data.
The solution I am referring to is provided by Oracle. They use a concept of data pipeline in a pre-packaged product called – Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI). This is a subscription based cloud service. You will need to provision and then configure the data pipelines to extract the data from Oracle Applications.
